Introducing Get Togethers — Because Not Every Plan Needs to Be a Trip
You don't need a trip to need Vahmos.
Since we launched, people have been using Vahmos to plan group vacations, retreats, and weekend getaways. And we love that. But we kept hearing the same thing from organizers:
"I wish I could use this for smaller stuff too — like dinner next Saturday."
So we built it.
What Are Get Togethers?
Get Togethers are a lighter, faster way to plan anything — a hike, a birthday dinner, game night, a volunteer project, a concert with friends.
Here's how it works:
- Give it a name, date, and place. That's it. Under 2 minutes.
- Share the link. No app to download. Works on any phone.
- Everyone RSVPs. "I'm In," "Maybe," or "Can't Make It" — one tap.
- You see who's coming. Live headcount. No more "did you see my text?"
No spreadsheet. No group chat poll. No "can someone just tell me what time?"
Why We Built This
When we started Vahmos, our mission was simple: help groups spend less time coordinating and more time being together.
We began with trips because that's where the coordination pain is worst — flights, rooms, itineraries, RSVPs across multiple days. But as we built, we realized something: the same friction that kills trip planning also kills Tuesday night dinner plans.
Think about it. Someone texts the group: "Dinner Friday?" Then:
- Three people respond immediately
- Two respond six hours later with questions
- One person texts "where?" on Friday afternoon
- The organizer gives up and just texts everyone individually
Sound familiar?
The problem isn't that dinner is complicated. The problem is that group communication is broken — and it's broken whether you're planning a week in Kanab or tacos on Thursday.
Get Togethers are our answer to that. The same one-link, one-place simplicity we built for trips, now for everything else.

It Grows With You
Here's the part we're most excited about: Get Togethers aren't locked into being simple.
Start with a dinner. Then someone says "should we make it an overnight?" Tap Add a Stay. Someone needs a ride? Tap Add Rides. Want to add a morning hike the next day? Tap Add to Schedule.
Your casual dinner just became a weekend trip — without starting over, without losing RSVPs, without switching apps.
We call this progressive enhancement. You start with exactly what you need, and the app meets you where you are. No setup wizard. No "fill out these 12 fields before we let you invite anyone."
Get Togethers vs. Trips — When to Use Each
| Get Together | Trip | |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Single events — dinners, hikes, game nights, concerts | Multi-day plans — vacations, retreats, road trips |
| Setup time | Under 2 minutes | 10-20 minutes |
| RSVP | One tap for the whole thing | Per-activity opt-in |
| Grows into a trip? | Yes — add stays, rides, and more activities anytime | Already there |
Rule of thumb: If it's one event on one day, start with a Get Together. If it's multiple days with multiple activities, start with a Trip. Either way, you can always add more.
What This Means for Vahmos
Get Togethers change what Vahmos is.
We're no longer just a trip planner. We're the app you open whenever you want to get a group together — whether that's once a year for a big vacation or twice a month for dinner with friends.
That shift matters to us. When we wrote our mission, we said: our goal isn't to be a trip planner — it's to remove every reason people have to not get together.
Get Togethers are the biggest step we've taken toward that.
Get Togethers are live today, free for groups up to 8.
Plan a Get Together — FreeGot a dinner coming up? A hike this weekend? A birthday you keep meaning to plan? Give it a name, pick a date, share the link. Done.
And if you're already using Vahmos for trips — you'll find Get Togethers right alongside them in My Plans. Same app, same link-sharing magic, just faster.
What's Next
This is just the beginning. We're already working on:
- Recurring Get Togethers — for the monthly book club or weekly pickup game
- Event templates — "Happy Hour," "Day Hike," "Game Night" with smart defaults
- Cover photos — make your invite link look as good as the event itself
We'd love to hear what you think. Reply to this post, or tap Help & Feedback in the app.
